Welcome to the Palmer Middle School AVID website! Here you can learn about AVID, find out about upcoming events, and apply for the program.
    
AVID stands for Advancement Via Individual Determination and is a yearlong college readiness program made for students in the academic middle. AVID’s mission is to close the achievement gap by preparing all students for college readiness and success in a global society. In AVID, we participate in tutorials/peer tutoring twice a week (Tuesdays and Thursdays), we have weekly binder checks on organizational skills, Cornell note-taking and take college field trips to prepare for our future. We also use the technique W.I.C.O.R (Writing, Inquiry, Collaboration, Organization, and Reading). Everything we do in AVID prepares us for the future!
